Having the computer room with in the workshop allows the teachers to highly flexible with their delivery of information and techniques for the students. On any particular day I could have first, second and third year apprentices attending. Coordinating between theortical and practical exercises depends on where and what the student need to achieve, this allows the learning environment to be student centred.
Do they learn 3D stuff? To draw as construction or just to understand to be able to use the drawings to be able to construct the metal pieces?
ReplyDeletePlease, please tell a bit more about how to use technology!
DeleteDo you have interactive whiteboards?
Have students own laptops?
What are your thoughts about technology in schools?
Hi Thomas, there is a computer room which the students have full time access to in the workshop. Also we currently run interactive white boards on the workshop floor agian the students have full access too. there is multiple CNC machines the students are trained on.
DeleteSome of the students bring in their own electronic equipment(Tablets, laptops, some phones)to use elearn.
Technology in schools can only be a positive. I find that the students are better engaged and will gather the skills and techniques required their own way. for me this provides the students with great ownership of what they are learning.
Hello Evan!
ReplyDeleteTanks, good to here from you. Good that the students can bring there own equipment. Its important that they have interest for different things that they can learn.
